FOOD SUPPLEMENTS WITH BIOTIN AND LACTIC ACID BACTERIA
SymbioLact® protect
SymbioLact® protect is a food supplement that contains biotin, which contributes to maintaining normal mucous membranes (e.g., intestinal mucosa), and bacteria that produce lactic acid.
Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes and skin, to a normally functioning energy metabolism as well as to the nervous system.
Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in the metabolism of the body’s cells.
Our largest mucous membrane (the intestinal mucosa), with a surface area of 400 to 600 m2, is particularly dependent on an adequate supply of nutrients. The largest quantity of biotin comes from our daily food intake. Smaller amounts are produced by the gut flora and contribute to the total amount, thereby supplementing the daily quantity of biotin that is absorbed from food.
An increased need for biotin can arise in particular when taking various medications.
