The selected bacterial strain Lactobacillus plantarum DR7 has shown its positive effect on the gut-brain axis in a clinical study1: The bacteria have been shown to promote the production of the "happiness hormone" and nerve messenger serotonin and reduce the amount of the stress hormone cortisol.
